I recently curled up with my 5-year-old Superkid to read Tired of Being a Bully, and we loved it! Sadly, bullying is something that kids as young as my own are currently experiencing. It can be challenging to discuss bullying with preteens and older kids, but just imagine trying to find the words to make the youngest ones understand it. Dicy McCullough tackles the sensitive topic of bullying, and makes it relatable to younger readers.
Lucky is the star of the book, and starts off as neither warm nor cuddly, and probably wouldn’t make a very fun pet! This dog doesn’t make any animals around feel happy, and can’t acquire any friends. Soon, Lucky learns that it is better to use friendship behavior rather than to chase potential friends away. The story is easy for young readers to master, and the illustrations are simply adorable!
If you are a parent, teacher, or someone who interacts with children on any level, you will enjoy Dicy McCullough’s latest book Tired of Being a Bully. You can win a free, autographed copy! How exciting is that?!?!
On April 2, 2013 at 9:30 PM EST, there will be a Twitter party to celebrate this book, as well as discuss bullying. We’ll have Dicy McCullough @DicyMcCullough, Dr. G (Dr. Deborah Gilboa) @AskDocG, and Kelly Karius @KellyKarius on the panel with the following bloggers (including yours truly, Jeanae @jeanae of Waiting for Supermom)
Join us for the celebration, discussion, and additional prizes. RSVP to the #BullyNoMore Twitter party here.
Many thanks to Cluttered Genius for inviting me to join the amazing group of bloggers to celebrate this fabulous book!
